If 'hate' is something when we mean that in the following way as someone said, 'one who hates you can be your secret admirer' is fine. Otherwise hatred is a disease that spread fast in the social level (in case communal or ethnic fights). However, I wanted to emphasize little sarcasm in the last phrase "I hate to say 'I hate' ", you know that. Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments. I would welcome more from you.
